How it works
We will hold our ceremonies inside or outside in the garden (depending on the wheater).
The First day:
To initiate the evening ceremony we speak aloud (or not!) our intention or request for insight, and then drink the first tea that contains the MAO inhibitor. We get into our sleeping bags and lie down.
About 15 minutes later we will take our second tea, and lie back down.
You will start tripping anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes later. This may include visions, or just be experienced as strong feelings. There is no right way to experience this journey beyond surrendering to it.
It is normal to experience nausea and vomiting, although not always the case, it is a part of purging yourself and is to be expected.
After about 2 hours, you will be offered a second dose to go deeper. As a group we will begin to come out of the trip around the 6 hour mark.
While the group energy is really powerful, we are not actively interacting with each other until we begin to come out of the trance. It is normal to cry or laugh but for the most part we are lying down and experiencing our journey internally.
We will eat some light soup at the end of the ceremony and then go to sleep.
The second day
We will have a sharing circle, do yoga or Artistic impression and we will have the second ceremony again.
On day three:
For our final ceremony we will have Psilocybin, or Magic Mushrooms.
This grounding medicine will help us integrate the lessons we learned from our Ayahuasca experience and will help create a smooth transition back into your daily life.
On day four
We have a final breakfast & sharing circle and then it’s hugs goodbye
I want to sign up!
About The Ayahuasca Retreat in Spain
I can confidently tell you that Ayahuasca has saved my life and helped me intentionally heal trauma from the past as well as navigate life’s difficulties today.
It has opened my mind and my soul, and made me a happier, better person. Ayahuasca is a beautiful medicine, and I am so honored to share it with those who are ready for its life changing magic.
As for our healer Sophiah she was a therapist for over 20 years in her native country of Holland, before trying Ayahuasca herself after a difficult period. She was so moved by the experience that she has devoted her life to bringing this powerful medicine to those who need it.
Her style of work is guided by instinctive love energy, and she has the experience and natural gift of helping us as we undertake this internal journey. Each of you will have an intake conversation with Sophiah so that she can understand your needs and answer any questions you might have about the journey.
Entheogen Intense Retreat
Besides the ceremonies, we will have some organized activities that you can choose to participate in.
Rest is a valid option here, if that is what you need.
Some things we will organize will include:
- Artistic expression
- Yoga classes
- Soundbath therapy
- Swimming in the river
The purpose of this retreat is to connect deeper with yourself. You will be welcome to go with your flow throughout the weekend.

All meals are included, see below for more details
Delicious, Nourishing Food
Ayahuasca requires a special vegan diet that doesn’t contain tyramines, which are compounds found in fermented foods.
During our retreat, our host Frank will create delicious and healthy meals that will allow us to nourish our bodies as well as our souls!
The diet is important for safety reasons, and you will want to adhere to it for at least the week before the retreat.
We will furnish you with a guide of what you can and cannot eat, as well as recommendations for traveling comfortably with this diet.
This is a life changing experience
Let go of frustration by surrendering old and unhelpful baggage
Experience true rest and relaxation, leading to clarity and purpose
Reconnect with yourself and nature with the power of plant medicine
Relax into trust in a supportive group setting
Breathe and expand in a beautiful, safe environment
By the end of this retreat, you will have learned how to relax, let go of past hurts, and gained the tools to better handle the challenges in your life from a calmer, more centered place so you are clear on exactly what you want and need to bring yourself everyday peace and joy.

About Your Spiritual Team
Sophiah is our ceremony leader and your spiritual guide for this weekend. She is a compassionate healer with decades of experience as a therapist and medicine woman. She has shared the Jurema plant medicine with hundreds of individuals since 2015 and has trained to administer Ayahuasca with Shamans in Mexico. Recently she was trained by her Shaman to serve the Bufo Medicine.
Working with Plantspirits have opened portals to different realms and she is grateful to share her experiences with you. She is guided by the medicine and gets messages which she will use as a tool to guide you through your experience with love and the caring hands of a Grandmother.
Her speciality is in integrated bodywork, including extensive experience with Craniosacral therapy, birth and dying processes.
She will lead our ceremonies and provide you with a support call before and after the retreat. For any questions regarding plant medicine, she will have the answers.
Sophiah is from the Netherlands and spent years living in Uk, Greece and Spain. Today she lives in Holland where she shares plant medicine with pilgrims from all over the world, and spends time with her children and grandchildren.
Esther is a breath coach and will be assisting Sophiah during the ceremonies as a space holder and energetic guide. She will lead breath healing workshops and guide yoga workshops during our time together in the Villa.
She also works with sound healing, and will be available to you during your stay as further spiritual support.
Esther is from the Netherlands.

Frequenly Asked Questions
Sure! I had never done any psychedelics before I did Ayahuasca.
It’s not like you open your eyes and see leprechauns dancing around, it’s more like you can see the breath of the universe, and when you close your eyes you may have visions. You are very sensitive to music, and your feelings will be intense. You will feel very connected to nature, yourself, everyone you’ve ever loved, society, the world, whatever your spirit connects with.
Ayahuasca is medicine, and as such it does have some real contraindications and things that you must avoid.
The MAO inhibitor tea can cause heart palpitations when taken with tyramines, compounds found in fermented foods. This is why it is important that you respect the special diet for a week before the retreat.
You can read about MAO inhibitors and the diet they require here on the Mayo Clinic’s website.
The hardest part is caffeine, which can cause gnarly migraines when you detox from it. Believe me, I know. I now mostly drink decaf!
We will provide you with clear guidelines for your diet and tools for how to travel while respecting the diet after you register.
MAO inhibitors also have dangerous interactions with SSRIs, so you cannot take Ayahuasca when you are currently taking SSRI antidepressants.
If you have questions about medications and interactions, talk to Sophia and ask your hopefully open minded doctor.
There is no good evidence that psychedelics have adverse effects. Feel free to research for yourself, we love Michael Pollan’s book and Netflix series How to Change Your Mind.
There is no such thing as a bad trip if your intention is to heal and you are being guided in safety. All of us will go to dark places during our journey, it’s wise to step into the shadows and see what reveals itself to you.
This is the most profound advice that I can give to any psychedelic traveler. Open the door and step through into the darkness if that is where you are led!
In psychedelic circles we refer to “Set and Setting” as being the most important factors that impact the quality of your experience. Set is your mindset, ie what your intention is and your openness to your experience, and setting is the place and atmosphere.
We will ensure the setting is sacred and safe, in the Yurt of the Villa in a cozy sleeping bag under the stars. Your mindset is up to you, avoiding a “bad trip” should not be your goal.
You may vomit, and will likely feel nauseous at some point. We will provide everyone with buckets and paper towels.
You will be escorted to the bathroom if and when you need it by either Sophia or Esther.
While you are in your psychedelic journey you are still capable of basic functions such as going to the toilet.
